Cape cod clothes are perfect for removing stains on D3V. Just thought I would throw my experience out here. I live in Northern Louisiana. Its a jungle down here. Very humid year round. And hot. When you sweat it just sticks.....doesnt evaporate at all seems like. Within an hour theres not a dry spot on me.....anywhere. So theres no wiping the blade on pants leg etc. Its what I know.....born and raised here. My point.......I have experimented through the years alot with protecting my steel. Did a 4 hour hike yesterday.....breaking trail through the thicks. My behemother was in my sweaty hand for 4 hours with tree sap and whatever else you can imagine. Noticed some minor staining when I got home. Not rust.....just stain. I tried everything including nail polish remover on paper towels ......to no effect. The cape cod clothes took all stains right off.....without affecting the blades finish. Looks like it did when it came out of the box. This amazed me.....seemed to work particularly well on this steel. The cloths are cotton......not abrasive. So they dont affect the finish of the steel. I would rather let the steel naturally patina than take anything abrasive and create a spot with a different finish. Anyhow......give it a try sometime and Im sure you will be amazed.
