stain removal

I cut a few apples up with my karda, just for the heck of it, and I noticed afterwards some staining on the blade. Presumably this is from acid in the fruit or something.

How can I remove these kinds of stains without sanding?

I have found that Nver Dull works well on light staining. It's found in your local automotive store where the wheel and rim cleaner is. Orrrrr, you could just not worry about it and cut up more acidic fruits:) You'll lose that shiny finish, but you bring out the patina and show the temper line. That way it'll look well used AND cool at the same time.

I thought this thread was going to be about how to remove stains from shirts and tablecloths with a khukuri!

I just want to be the first to say these words as they're bound to come up...

Flitz polish works well, also.

Good stuff, I swear by it. Also makes a good strop dressing in a pinch. Just smear a thin coat of it on your strop, allow it to dry powdery to the touch, and strop away.
