I was chatting with a friend who's not into knives. He mentioned that he cut something with his Randall and now it's stained / black.

I felt a little silly not being able to recommend a fix -- is there anything he can do to restore the original finish?

Thanks,

Mike

Try Flitz. It is a great metal polish. Simicrome probably would work too. If those don't work. Tell your friend to get "into" knives and learn that carbon steel discolors when exposed to acids and other corrosive conditions! :)

You don't have to "be into knives" to know that: It's in the manual that comes with Randall knives, and no matter what you do, a used knife can never be made "unused" again, so as I see it this owner made his choice.
