Staining After Wood Hardener?

The Minwax wood hardener instructions indicate you can stain after hardening wood, but wouldn't the hardener repel the stain?

I have some spalted dogwood and spalted maple I'm going to harden, but I'd like to use use a tung oil finish on them, too.

Any ideas on this?

This is what I got in the pot. I have splated maple which I put in wood hardener and red Rit dye, one week under vacuum. Now I have it in Teak oil under vacuum. Should be out on Wed.

I used the hardener on some maple and then tried to darken it with leather dye. Hers the results (bottom one)

Birdseye maple stabilized in a jar of minwax wood hardener and scarlet rit dye for a week. Then stained and resealed with Minwax red mahogany stain/sealer oil. Sorry the finish isn't so great on it, I left it at 50-grit :(. Think it looks OK? It looks a bit better in real life though. The colors are darker and much more rich. The Minwax oil did a lot for the color, IMO.
