Stainless Blade Discoloration

I recently purchased my first Randall knife and noticed the stainless blade has discoloration streaks on the blade. Is this normal on a new knife? Should it be repolished to remove it? There is a post with a picture from, drsmith751 , that looks exactly like my blade.
Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

It's common, most of my newest came that way. A little polish may remove it; I don't bother...

Hope that helps. :)

Thanks. I tried a little polish to see if the marks could be removed, but under a jewelers loop the marks look like they are in the stainless. Doesn't bother me, just wanted to know if I got what I paid for! I just ordered my second Randall without stainless blade.
Thanks again Shel

I actually contacted Randall, and they said it was in the stainless buffing process, and absolutely normal!

Bob,

That's good info to have. Thanks for the follow-up.
