Is there a good way to treat a bright shiny stainless steel blade on a knife so it wouldn't be so shiney? Thanx

Yes! You can have it bead blasted, sandblasted, satin finished on a beltgrinder with a scotchbrite belt, the same on a benchgrinder with a scotchbrite wheel.
You can dip it in ferric chloride and water mixture(etching solution).

You can also hand rub the blade with wet or dry abrasive paper.

On any of these methods, especially the last one, you should have some knowledge of the process or you can ruin the looks, and value of the blade.

Loan it to my wife. Inside one week you'll get everything Mike listed:

sandblasted
scotchbrighted
etched
abrasived
ruined looks
ruined value

Not bad for the price of postage.
