stainless camp knife blade from Atlanta Cutlery

Hello,

Some time back, Atlanta Cutlery offered a stainless camp knife blade which resembled a very short (8"-10" blade length) machete (blade widest toward front, straight backed blade). I didn't buy one then, and wish I had. Does anyone know of one of these blades that could be bought? Alternatively, does anyone know whether they were good blades (if they weren't, I won't look any farther)?

Thanks!

I have seen some decent knife brands advertised in the Atlanta Cutlery magazines, but these are the exception to the rule. Mostly they sell cheap knives made in India or China. Once an Atlanta Cutlery employee told me that their knives could not be sharpened, because "they can't take it".

Unless it is a known and reputable brand, I would stay away from Atlanta Cutlery products. And if it is a good brand, you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere.

For that price I am guessing 420 steel should really read 420j2. But I won't be a steel snob and advise against buying it. After all, if it does turn out to be a POS, you won't be out a lot of money.
