Hey, just thought I'd post the link to the new stainless version of the embassy pen offered by countycomm. I know alot of people missed out on the black version (including me) so here it is.

I love all stainless pens.

I'm not sure if this breaks any rules or not, I don't think this is dealspotting so please correct me and I'll remove the link.

It's a clean looking pen. I like that it's actually got a threaded cap, but I wonder if it retains it well.

Yes, it is deal-spotting. There are subtler ways of talking about gear than sending people to a non-BF-dealer website to shop.

Think the pen can use another refill other than Fisher? They are too blobby for use at work.

I just opened up my Fisher Zero Gravity to see if I could fit a Jotter refill in it and found I already had, that's what I switched to the last time it ran out. It won't go in the slim American Flag Fisher, though.

FWIW, Fisher did modify the formulation of their ink a few years back. It's now much less gloppy than it was in the past.

That makes sense, Bronco. My last experience with Fisher was when I was 13 or so, and had a little space pen from a museum gift shop. The ink kept gobbing up on the nib, and it had a tendency to leave globs of ink on paper mid-jot. I wasn't all that upset when I lost it a few years later.

Now, I have a bullet pen of theirs I carry every day, with the Fine cartridge. Writes well, and has none of the problems the old ones had.

That pretty much mirrors my experience. I owned several of their pens in the 80's and early 90's and they were all a mess. They would definitely write, and often in conditions where regular pens wouldn't, but the globs and smears were a problem that only got worse as you depleted the cartridge.

However, since hearing of the ink formulation change I've tried a couple of new ones and have been very pleasantly surprised with the performance.

Lucky sod's who live in the right country. I've just put an ad up on the WTB forum, asking if anyone has one of these stainless steel embassy pens. I do wish countycomm would start sending things outside the US. They've got lots of goodies i'd like to try out. *pets his ring, and hisses very low, "mmmmyyyyyyy prrrrrrrrreciousssssssssss."*

Mine arrived today. If you are on the fence about this.... get it. The fit and finish is top notch.
I like it better then my SS Benchmade,it seems more balanced and easier to write with. Plus no pointy ends.

How is the tube thickness of this stainless version compared to the aluminum version? I am thinking of getting one of these but can't decide which.
