Dave, of Oso Grande Knife and Tool, says all the new Stainless Enduras he is getting from Spyderco lacks the Boyle Dent. Yet, on the Spyderco site, this Boyle Dent is shown on Stainless Enduras as an included feature for 2002.

What's up with that? Is Dave being shipped old merchandise?
 
Great question. I did not inquire about the blade.

Is that an older or newer blade steel?
 
I believe VG10 is the latest, ATS 55 is the one before.
 
The Bladesman, Long Island's premier "block and mortar" retail knife store has the new version and is showing AUS-8 as the steel.

I wanted to do the deal with Oso, as Dave had graciously taken back knives that did not pass my inspection or that I changed my mind about. (who knows, maybe he doesn't want to do the deal, based upon those returns?)

I'll give him a call just to make sure.
