I have begun to heat treat my own stainless and purchased a small amount of Ticronic from TKS, but will need more fairly soon. I see that Enco has Ticronic as well as "Brand X". What do most of you use and trust; name brand or generic? Will the 2000F version work for most applications or is the 2200F a better investment to cover all bases if working with the high temperature Crucible steels?

Enco sales type 321 which is 0.002 inch thick, rated to 2000 F.. That is the foil I use. I have actually taken it to about 2100 F.. I just ordered an new roll from Enco. It is about 78 or 79 bucks for 50 ft. X 2 ft.. If you don't cut too much waste its about $1 per blade.
