After doing some extensive forum research here I decided my BK10 LE needed some stainless hardware to compliment the overall package. The recommended size was 10-24 x 5/8" (thanks Moose). Went down to the local Home store and Murphy was along for the ride. No 5/8" only 1/2" and 3/4". So I picked up both sizes. The 1/2 is about one thread to short in my opinion (see picture). I ended up using the 3/4" screws and cutting them to length with a dremel cut off disc. Just wanted to post this in case some of the new BK10 owners are thinking about doing the same upgrade. The scales are the Kabar micarta scales that came with the knife.

it's a good mod.

screw specs should be in the Database. we have seen shipped variants, but the old standard works :D

That stainless looks good! I might have to look into picking up some myself.

Bladite: I agree, the stock screws are good to go , just wanted to dress up the knife a bit.

EK20: for a couple bucks, it's a cheap way to dress up the knife. I might just upgrade all of my Beckers to stainless screws.

Skystorm: I know the pics or beating policy, that's why I posted 3! Tyrant :)

Beside putting stainless screw in my Beckers, I also used stainless nuts with nylon lock washers built in. I use them in my 9 and 2, my reasoning being I primarily use them for batoning and figure with all of the vibration and shock I did not want to worry about the handles coming loose. I use loc-tite on my other knives. It does not look as clean as plain nuts so they may not be for everyone.

Quint. Thats a good idea. When I pick up a Machax I'll upgrade it with those. I've read that they can't be removed to often or the nylon portion wears out. I don't think I'll need to remove the scales away from home so it won't be an issue. Thanks for posting that, time to go back to the Home store. :)

Instead of nylok nuts, I typically just put a drop of blue loc-tite on the screw and that holds them through the abuse, but they can be easily removed when needed.
