There's actually three models: the original FRN Native, the stainless-handled Native II, and the Native III, with a thicker, more sculpted FRN handle.
Spyderco's stainless-handled knives are extremely sturdy, but they're much heavier than their FRN equivalents, as you might expect. They're also a lot thinner, which makes them uncomfortable in heavy use. They're also slippery, compared to the textured FRN models, and damn cold on your skin in the winter.
And yes, they do scratch easily. I've sanded a couple of mine to more of a brushed finish, which helps hide the scratches somewhat, but if you plan to carry and use one, you can forget about keeping it as shiny as new.
If you haven't tried one yet, see if you can check out a Native III somewhere. IMHO it's a huge improvement over the original Native in just about every respect. In particular, the handle is sculpted in three dimensions, compared to the relatively slab-sided Native, for one of the most comfortable grips around.
