Hello

I was wondering if the one piece range will ever be made out of stailness steel, anything like the S30V steel.

I love the style, but would be afraid to use 'em in water.

Any ideas ?

I've used a Project 1 in wet, damp, and humid situations. Never had any problem with it yet.

I live in a humid wet climate 8 months of the year, use the one peice knives fishing and what not.

No problems here.

I'm no expert (yet) but I've heard that stainless does not do well in a one piece knife like Chris Reeves. I guess while it's cooling after the heat treat, the difference in the thickness of steel (blade vs. handle) is so different that it causes fissures and cracks in the steel because they cool at different rates. I have a good friend who made some out of stainless and he broke every one of them in testing because of this problem.

I use mine in and around water alot.Never had a problem. The coating is super tough.

And the best thing is the coating can be redone at at a very fair cost.:)

Maintainance, care and attention. A little oil on the exposed grind and a wiping regularly will keep these knives looking good for a long time, irrespective of environs. As mentioned above, they can be refinished at a reasonable cost.
