Hi,
what is the difference in terms of quality and maybe rusting potential ???

I notice that brass guard models are cheaper.

Thanks again.

It is a matter of personal preference.

Brass is less expensive, as you don't heat treat brass, and it is usually easier to sand/grind/finish. It develops a patina, that some like, and some cannot stand.

Stainless steel guards are heat treated(ideally), which minimizes rusting potential. FWIW, I vastly prefer stainless steel, but there are other pleasing options as well; titanium and damascus, either stainless or carbon(which will rust, if not maintained).
