I've been working on all sort of things lately and I've been so crazy busy I've had to take a break from many of the forums. But at least I have some things to show.

First is a stainless san mai camp knife. This was commissioned knife, but a bad run with welding stainless led to this shorter knife. 10" OAL. Wrought iron and nickel guard, Ceylon ebony handle.

And here is a multi-bar composite blade.. a Norse war knife. I've shown the whole thing on Facebook... but I'm in the process of making changes to the handle... so a separate thread later! But I thought this picture came out so nice.

Here is a large socketed Viking era spear from 1075.. 14" OAL.

And a couple of Viking era axes I forged after studying Jim Austin's historical techniques for these.... so much fun. Both are wrought iron with split and forge welded eye and high carbon bit in the edge.

Anyway... with new house and new shop projects winding down I hope I can start participating in this forum like I used to soon....

That bottom axe is very cool Scott!! Is that an Osage handle?

thanks again folks.

Yeah Ben... that is osage orange. I have a bunch osage fence posts and bow stave rejects that I like hewing into axe hafts. It's my favorite wood for handles. Absolutely bomb proof. But I've also recently found our local hop horn beam that was a traditional hafting material as well. Another local variant on 'ironwood'. And I will be making a heavy poundage warbow out of that pretty soon.

Love it Scott, thanks for sharing!
