Here is one in the works pre-heat treat. My first full sized blade with 416 stainless and high carbon core. It will have some Doug Campbell bighorn with copper liners and some gnarly wrought iron bolsters...

Thanks for looking in folks...

well it survived the heat treat! There is some very mild peeling in one area but it will grind away. I'm stoked.

sorry for the photography on the second one.. I couldn't get my point and shoot to lock in.

oh yeah and the core hardened up nicely too..

by the way.. I should mentioned that the blade profile was inspired by J. Knight's Sooke Mountain chopper.....

Well sorry about not documenting more of this... but between my wife breaking her leg water skiing and this knife giving me the fits.. there just wasn't time. It's finally getting there.. I snapped these shots to see what's wrong with the knife. Who else finds things to fix with their cameras? Just kind of carried it around to see how I want to photograph this one.

It's 12" OAL, 7" blade...

Awesome Knife Scott.
As you know by now I am a fan of your laminated blades.
I really like how this one turned out.
Very cool.

Came out real nice Scott. I really like how those bolsters came out.

Hope your wife has a speedy recovery!

Nicely done. I really like the look of the bolsters. Do you get that black look out of your wrought using heat?

Speaking of using heat to blacken my wrought... yeah, good eye. David gave me some ideas at Blade to treat my wrought. I was getting tired of the same old ferric look.

Thank you David... hope to get to one of your classes soon.

And thanks for all the other nice comments.
