I'm doing some initial research on building some Navaja/Okapi style knives. I'd like to know what alloys of stainless will work will for the back spring, preferably steels that can be cut and bent from stock and be springy enough without further heat-treat.
Since the blade on this style of knife is so easy to service, I'll likely be going with oiled A2 steel for the blades.
Anyway, I'd prefer something I can get from McMaster-Carr in appropriate thickness sheets, since I've had such a great experience with them.
