Stainless steel hardware

I've noticed that a lot of people here on the forums and off have put stainless steel hardware on their Beckers to replace the black hardware for the scales. I'm just curious as to where everyone's picked them up? Lowe's or any other home improvement store? I want to do this to my BK-7 before I Wilson wrap the handle scales.

yup - ace or true value around here -- better selection and lower prices for individual pieces.
 
Thanks for the information. I guess I'll be stopping by on my way home later to pick these up since I'm always impatient when it comes to getting what I want especially for my gear.
 
Yep my local Ace has a whole isle dedicated to nuts, bolts, and all sorts of misc fasteners.
 
I always get mine at the L0we's, but that's because they're the only choice I have. :( they usually have a section of stainless stuff in clamshells at the end of the mile o' fasteners. Usually have to get 10-24x3/4" and have to trim them down to 5/8" or so. The good news is that for a fullsize becker, you can use stainless lock nuts as well.
 
My local Ace went belly-up. I usually get 'em at OSH or HD.
L0wes has 'em for full-size, but my local one doesn't carry stainless #8s.
Hope that doesn't mean 0rchard's going to stop...

There's also a fastenal and grainger not too far away, an a local industrial-hardware place less than 10 miles away. So I've got it pretty good.
 
Got my stuff here...http://www.mcmaster.com/#. Check out the internal hex screws and the ny-lock nuts. There are also blackened stainless items available too.
Note: Older micarta scales for Becker's can sometimes be slightly thinner than currently available scales. I have two different vintages of scales and they require different length screws.
 
McMaster-Carr has low profile nylon lock nuts. They seem to fit better into the scales but you may have to trim the length of the cap bolts just a bit.
 
I work at a home improvement store and picked mine up there. I only put it on mine 2 and 9 and cant really decide if I like it or not.
