Stainless Steel Investigator Pen

Considering getting the stainless steel Investigator pen. I already have the Damasteel Benchmade pen and like the feel of a machined steel pen in the hand. Also a stainless steel pens finish should stand up better than plastic or anodized aluminum I would expect. The smaller size of the Investigator should make it more shirt pocket carrying friendly too.

Any comments from current owners of the SS Investigator?

I don't have an SS investigator. But the aluminum ones I own are holding up very well. Some have o-rings on them so it's not fair to comment on their finishes.

Here's why I commented, the SS pen weighs more than the aluminum. That's not a big deal unless shirt pocket carry of a heavier pen bothers. The aluminum version will be less noticed in the pocket as you go about your day.

I EDC SS and Aluminum, Both hold up great. IF I was still wearing a suit and was using my shirt pocket - aluminum.
SS is a little heavy for a suit/shirt pocket IMO.

I have an SS investigator as well as several titanium kubaton pens from Rick. I clearly don't mind weight since I often carry the full sized pens, even with a suit sometimes. I like the SS investigator. It is a very small pen, that is my only caution to you, but I like it in SS because it gives the little pen some heft, which I like for writing.

I've carried a SS investigator most every day for a year and can't say enough good things about it - very small but perfect for minimal writing tasks and rock solid construction.

The Investigators in any material are great little pens.

I carry one most everywhere. Even in my casual lounge attire around the house I've got a brass one in my pocket. In "real clothing" I pair it with a larger "clicky" pen...one fails, the other is backup. I have aluminum versions in my checked luggage and if I'm out on the town when a knife cannot come along, the pen is still in my pocket.
