Stainless steel liners?

Hey guys, I’m going try to get into making liner lock folding knives. I thought about using titanium, but I ordered some .093 thick 416 stainless steel for the liners. What is the best way to heat treat this steel for liners?
Secondly, I have some left over AEB-L laying around, would this work for liners?

Let us assume you meant .093" thick.

I think that's far too thick - too stiff for the spring unless you thin the area where the spring will flex

make up some test pieces, do the HT, test your thinning.

"Heat Treat Procedure 416 spring temper" is your search term

Grade 5 , 6AL4V titanium needs no HT. It works, it's simpler. It's not expensive.

Get the Bob Terzuola book, it's being reprinted new, the old version is available in a black and white scan pdf.

Thanks man! Yeah it was .093. I’ll definitely thin the flex part of the spring down probably around .060 to loosen it up a bit. I did a quick search and found a heat treat recipe that I’ll try.
