Stainless steel Randalls

I am rather new to collecting Randalls and was wondering if anyone would tell me what kind of stainless steel Randall uses or has used in the past? Or where I could find that information.

My understanding is that 440C has and may still be being used on some Model # 14's, but you can't get the shop to tell you which is which and can't request one steel over the other.
 
What Rc is typical for the stainless Randalls? Which models are known to use ATS34?
 
Just a couple o days ago I sent an e-mail to Gary Randall and I asked him which kind of stainless steel he used for my #14 (1999). The answer was 440C.
