Stainless steel wallet???

I've seen them for sale in a number of catalogs. I haven't been tempted because they are just an ordinary wallet as far as capacity.

I think they were mentioned on EDC forums, not sure, but the impression I got was that prolonged use,ie;in your back pocket, caused the wallet to fray because the stainless used is not very ductile;which in turn would scrape away at your pocket.

Cool...but Ti would be cooler.:D

Love to hear from someone who bought one also.

Cool factor goes out the window if and when you fall on your keister... I guarantee you your sciatic nerve will express it's displeasure!

I had a sciatic flare-up last week. On the "wallet/clutch pedal side" of course. Should have seen me limping through the grocery store cringing.
Thats not a pain that I want to risk inducing with a steel wallet.

I'm in the market for a wallet, and as a metallurgist stainless steel sounds interesting. Yes I would assume that eventually with flexing the stainless would fray.Maybe just for formal dress ! I'll have to think about it .

Oh gee I don't think that is for me. I use one with sail cloth. Much thinner and more durable then leather. You might want to check it out. I really like it. http://www.all-ett.com/

90$ for a wallet, he** no...

seriously though, that thing looks pretty neat, but I stick with leather.

Don't carry wallet in rear pocket. Steel or not, for just that reason.;)

I've had a Mission Wallet for several years now, for front pocket carry, and even with a knife and SpacePen it has held up fine.

Saw an add in Herrington (?) catalog for one made out of aluminium... If you'll notice, a lot of your debit cards, gas cards, have RFID chips in 'em.... This aluminium design is supposed to sheild your cards from unauthorized scanning...
Don't know if that's true, as I haven't had the time to look it up... But either way, a metal wallet gets relegated to the front, or thigh pocket, for the very reason Mongo points out!

Got an Oakley kevlar/leather/nylon wallet, its holding up pretty damn well, even after years of abuse.

Sadly I don't think they can be had new anymore.

I just think it would be a pain it the butt! Literally! If it starts to fray and digs through your clothing, you will be reminded of your $90 wallet in a not so pleasant way.

I have a friend who had/has one (been a while since I've seen it or him). It's actually pretty slik, it's got a very fine comfortable texture. It's not any better or worse than a leather or cloth wallet. It has the tacticool factor but it's no better than a leather wallet. I do remember it having sharp edges so if you slipped while pulling on the edges it oculd give you a couple layer thick slice. Which probably wouldn't bleed but you would see the nick in the shower.

My wife and I have these -

Very handy and hold up well. They have a clip on the other side which can function as a money clip.

Andy

p.s.: they aren't as bulky as the one in the picture seems.
