I just ordered an X-Ray and i heard that beadblasted blades stain. The steel is ATS-34
so will it stain easier than non bead blasted ATS-34 blades?
Thanks

Hi Kman,

Thanks for your post. Your comment about beadblasted blades is true for any Stainless steel, but ATS-34 has less "stainless" properties than others.

Through some general care, you likely will not have any problem. Cleaning and oiling your blade regularly is the key. Remember, also, what makes steel want to rust more quickly (sweat, acidy substances, salt water, blood, etc.).

There are some excellent blade protectants available, but we have found that Marine Tuf-Cloth, by Sentry Solutions, is outstanding. http://www.sentrysolutions.com
If you have any other questions, let me know.

Thanks Ron,
I think it will make a really good knife, it should not stain because I always like to take care of them and polish the blade.

Just one more ? - Does this knife have the strongest locking system currently on the market?
Thanks,

Hi Knifeman,

Does this knife have the "strongest locking system on the market?" There is much debate on this topic, but I can say that the ArcLock is an outstanding, state-of-the-art locking system that is among the strongest available. Other companies are producing super locks of similar capabilities. It's kind of like asking "what's the best sports car in the world?"

Thanks Ron,
I was just getting fed up with liner locks where the lock would slip all the way to the other side of the blade when any large amount of pressure was used when cutting. All I want is a rock solid lock (no blade play) that will protect the blade from closing it an accident (bumping on back of the blade). I also want it to last forever like a lockback. I think the vision series was my best choice. I cant wait until it comes!!!!
