Hey Spark, since the forum changes I've been getting all the forums with the light bulbs lit up even though nothing new has been posted since my last visit. Plus the actual new threads which were started since my last visit don't show the red folders. I went to preferences and had the cookies from this forum erased and then reset my preferences but this didn't change anything. Am I the only person with this problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Paul Davidson

How are you navigating through the forums? What are you clicking on?

I'm having the same problem and took the same steps to try to fix it. I'm coming in through the frontpage(www.bladeforums.com) and clicking on the links at the bottom of the graphic. Haven't tried using the pulldown menu I'll try that next time I log in.

Update: Using the pulldown menu "Quick Navigation" then choosing "Enter the Forums" corrected the problem. I'll just come in that way. Wanted to let you know.

I have noticed the same thing. The lightbulbs are lit but once inside a forum nothing looks new or unread.

I've been doing exactly what EC describes in his first post. I'll give the pull down menu a try. I used to have trouble with the cookies resetting the lights/folders if I looked at someone's profile and then used the browsers back button to go back to the main forum. I got around that by using the "tree" links in the upper right.

Ok, if you are going through the front page, I do know what's going on.

The links on the front page (and at the top) are written so that you don't have your cookie reset every time you click on one of them. That would cause you to see the lightbulbs in the first forum, but none of the others.

I'll alter the links on the front page of the site so that it doesn't bypass the cookies, but I'll leave the ones at the top of the forums themselves so that they do.

Using the pulldown menu did solve my cookie problem, but I'll give the links another try. This is really a very minor thing, but I'm too lazy to look at the dates.

Actually sometimes it's just difficult for me to remember the time of my last visit. I check in a couple of times a day and don't want to waste time opening threads that haven't changed at all. Thanks for looking into it Spark.
