I see Sylvester Stallone has gone to a real working knife manufacturer for the knife he uses in his latest action flick.

He has gone to Fehrman knives and uses one called the Fehrman Blood Moon, it looks more tactical than survival/ Bushcraft but it's a step in the right direction eh !!!;)

Not as of now hes not. Look over at Fehrman forum

Found it, I didn't even know they had a forum !

It has been reported that Fehrman Knives will have several knives appearing in the upcoming feature film “The Expendables” (summer 2010). This no longer appears to be the case. It is now our understanding that no Fehrman Knives will be appearing in this film.

Here is the story as we understand it... Fehrman Knives was contacted in December 2008 by a company that provides props for movies and television about providing samples of our knives and tomahawks for an upcoming movie called “The Expendables”. We were informed that our samples were reviewed and two of our knives were selected for the film. Later we were also asked if we could design a custom knife for a specific character in the film. We designed a new knife and submitted samples and were informed that this new design was well received and was also chosen as the third of our knives to be used in the film. We created approximately 1/2 dozen of each blade, plus additional variations, and custom sheathing. Everything was shipped to meet a filming deadline in March 2009.

The representative of the prop company did make clear to us that they could not make any guarantees on how much "screen time" our knives would get, but our knives had been chosen for the film, and even custom designed for specific characters, so our understanding was that our knives would be used. To our knowledge, the only unknown was "how much" they would appear in the film, not "if" they would appear in the film.

After shipping all the knives, sheaths, etc. the last contact we had was that our knives were "performing well". Toward the end of 2009 and the early part of 2010 we began to show the new custom designed knife and let a few people know that some of our knives would appear in the film. Our knives were shown in Tactical Knives magazine and were reported as being in the film.

We were contacted by the prop company again on 03/26/2010 and informed that apparently, at the last minute, a decision had been made not to use our knives and that our knives would not be appearing in the film. On 03/29/2010 Fehrman Knives began making efforts on its website to clarify the situation with the new information we had received.

Although our knives have received attention by various sources as being in the film, we want to clarify again that, as of today (03/29/2010), and to our knowledge, our tools will not be featured in this film. We apologize to our customers and to those who have been inconvenienced by this mistake. Our goal is NOT to point fingers or shift blame, we simple want to make plain to our customers and to anyone else interested what the situation is currently and how the whole thing came about in the first place.

We regret any confusion this may have caused. If you have additional questions regarding this matter please send all inquiries to: FIERCETOOLS@FEHRMANKNIVES.COM

Respectfully,
Eric Fehrman

That's a shame eh !!!:(:thumbdn:

Wow. looks nice but also seems pretty useless. Looks like something a mall ninja would carry if they could afford it.

I thought I saw this knife on the cover of TK or inside it, can't remember. I just looked at it on the stand last weekend for a minute.

One of the characters, I believe Sly himself, is using a copy of the Musso Bowie made by Hibben.

A copy of a fantasy knife. I guess the fehrman knives didn't look cool enough.

Where are you guys seeing this knife? Could someone post a link or something please.

I am confused as to what this means...I know the Rambo knives were kinda out there in design but they were good knives if you got one of the real LILE knives...Mr LILE made some awesome knives I am pleased to own a few origionals. funny fact that Sly wanted to use a Randall knife for Rambo but when they called Gary and told them they needed it now ...Gary told them to get in line like everyone else.....so they found LILE...and then after that was all said and done mickey finn (phrobis) used the design of the rambo knives mixed with an ak-47 bayonet and came up with the m9 bayonet.....so now our service members can thank Rambo for their bayonet/field knives....and RIP Mickey Finn and Jimmy LILE....

I am sorry to hear that, Eric really is a good man. As far as the knife goes, not practical but it was made for a movie.

I see they redid their website.I haven't been there in awhile.Nice job.
