stamp inside handles

Forgive me, I searched but couldn't find the thread where I'd previously read about the stamps inside the handles (plenty of results related to the Idaho Made stamp turned up!). Are the stamps supposed to match each other?

I recall reading about how the "letter" (eg. A,B,C) indicates the section of the year of production & the "number" indicates the year. My Sebenza is stamped "A 11" on both scales but I suspect that this represents the scale manufacture date only.(because I bought my knife new in late 2012). Perhaps someone else could expand on this.
