Being relatively new to Beckers, I have a question about stamped models.

Is it safe to assume that every model had a small run of stamped blades with smooth coating?

I have become obsessed with stamped Beckers as of late.

I appreciate the help.

I currently have a BK4, BK5, BK9 and now a BK15 on the way. I have a feeling this will be a long quest for those stamped blades.
 
No, not every model.

The 13 and 24 have no coating.

Doubt the 1, 6, 8, 12, 14 have smooth versions.
 
Bladite has a Thread Becker Knife Data Base . Shows all the stamped Beckers , take a look .
 
I appreciate the replies - I do realize that some models never came coated. I was mainly referring to the coated models (Camillus or Ka-Bar) - I apologize for not being more precise.

I have spent hours reading over the Becker Knife Data Base and find it a wealth of knowledge. I was hoping to confirm my conclusions before looking for a snipe.

I thought the BK1 and BK6 were stamped with a smooth coating?

I own a camillus bk1 and the coating is not that smooth, but is not that aggressive either, like my late bk7 purchase that was the mother of the coatings hehe ,I also have a bk2 (rolled stamped model) with a very smooth coating
 
Oh man, my heart just broke a little over the BK1. I am guessing that the BK6 likely has a similar coating?

Every camillus becker was stamped and had a black traction coating on it. so that would be the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11

When Kabar started making them they used a smooth black coating and stamped them. Now they laser etch the logos and use a traction coating so bad it makes the camillus coating seem smooth. to me the kabar coating is basically sandpaper. The camillus coating was not that bad at all.

You should be able to find a smooth coated and stamp 2,3,4,5,7,9,11,14 there are a few stamped bk15s,bk16s, and bk17s, out there but most all of them are the ethan becker signature ones.

kabar did have a stamped bk10 it was the bk10LE (limited edition) what happened was when camillus closed, kabar had about 150 camillus bk10 blanks not finished. So they stamped the karbar logo on them and put a clear coat finish on the blade. They also sold it with the micarta handles already on them and an extra set of camillus handles (the camillus handles were thicker).
