Stamping my custom blades?

This year I started making knives - I am still have to learn a whole lot. One question I couldn't find an answer to is how to mark my pieces. I am looking for either stamping, engraving or etching. Any leads on how to obtain or make a stamping steel? Any good advise for a greenhorn?
