Got this little gem from Stan at the Plaza Show in So. Cal.
It's a liner lock with fully engraved anodized titanium handles inlaid with black lip mother-of-pearl.
Has a 2 7/8" ATS34 blade. Engraving by Bruce Shaw.
Thanks for looking.;)

That's a gorgeous peice. This pattern has some significance to me. Back in the mid 90's when I was getting pretty serious as a hobbyist knifemaker, I attended the Guild show in Orlando. It was my first knife show, and as many of you who know Stan, he was the friendliest face in the crowd. I showed him my first folder, and he gave me plenty of encouragement in his critisim. He also shared some little tricks to make life easier, and basicly set the standard for me as to how a maker should share knowledge. He had a couple folders of this pattern, and I just had to make one like it. I made a couple similar to them, but of course no where near the quality. Thanks for posting your folder,....good memories.

Frank - that is a really nice folder from Stan. At the BAKCA show last year, he had a pile of his Ti bolster folders with eagles engraved on the bolster, but nothing that really grabbed me. The engraving is just magnificent, and the interframe style suits this particular handle design very well.

What an incredible knife. Beautiful engraving. Too bad it is so hard to get a good picture of blacklip pearl.

Thanks for sharing with your experiences with Stan and the compliments regarding his and Bruce Shaw's work. Stan is truely a gifted artist, and equally important to me, he and his wife Elaine are real fine folks.

That black-lip pearl is real tricky to photo well, so here is a scan that almost grasps the great color.;)

That's a beautiful knife Frank. Very nice engraving by Bruce Shaw, and this particular "style" of Stan's is one of my favorites by him. I like the blade being a little bit larger than most of his designs. Thanks for posting this one...Again, very nice...Rich
