I have a standard buck 110, i think the scale is retracting from the bras bolsters. i have had the knife for 2 years but it did a lot of sitting in my nightstand drawer. I am not sure if the scales are retracting or if im just being anal about it.
(p.s) i plan on using this knife A LOT as i have noticed its greatness. what can i do for standard care. I have been using a standard kitchen rod sharpener for it now, Will it hurt the blade, what should i use?...thanks fellows

jh, On your first concern, if you have a vise, mix up some good epoxy and work it down between the wood and brass liner . Then put it in the vise with a leather liner and tighten it some and allow it to set over night . Remove and clean excess . Should be fine for years .
On your second concern, unless you really know how to use those kitchen steels for sharpening, don't . Get a 2x6" Norton India stone and sharpen it on that . DM

humm i edc a 110 for many many years and did not do any thing to take care of them
india stones are good for a fine edge but most any thing will do
i would like to see this retracting scales ..
most might have a tiney gap if any thing ..
if it is getting worse with the laminated wood - wow
that is beyond my experience
other wise if it is a user
use the snot out of it!
jest dip and clean in at least 90 proof before food use!
now for showing off and or sunday go to meeting use
ugh ... others will be along soon i am sure..

ok thanks...the scale is only retracting on one side and on one of the bolsters. i dont think it is retracting enough to add epoxy but ill see if it continues to retract
