Hi,

I have to choose between the Standard FSH (.225 thick Saber Ground) and a MOASH (.345 thick Flat Ground).

Which one do you prefer? Saber Ground or Flat Ground? Why?

Thanks.

Hi, the sabregrinds are NOT standard FSH's!!! Only the HHFSH are sabre and their thickness is approx. 0,27"

For a USER choose the sabre
For collecting choose the MOASH

If you choose the sabre please let them send the MOASH my way for further investigation:D

Grab the MOASH. They will be more worth in the future as the snakeskin may be gone.

You can get a HHFSH from the exchange alot, but the MOASH you won't find that easy.

That thick spine sure does make a good splitter and a solid target for a baton log.

I agree, you may not get another chance at a Snake Skin MOASH.

Of course, if you don't sell it, then who cares what it is worth to someone else in the future? Whichever you choose, it will be worth everything to you because you have a history (hopefully of use ;)) with it, but it won't be worth anything to the next person looking for something else. You'll probably also have to sell for less than what you would prefer if the prospective buyer ends up being someone looking to flip it and make a buck.

Keep in mind that as the price point goes higher, your pool of prospective buyers generally becomes smaller and "pickier". That said, do NOT use the amount of money you spend on a Busse as a guage of whether the knife will be a user or a safe queen. If you want to use it, then do; if not, then don't. It really is pretty simple when you get right down to it. And regardless of what you see in pics or hear on these threads, only you can decide what you really love in a Busse knife.

The weight difference between the two should be considered as a deciding factor as well, if you want to carry it a lot and long distances (on foot) I would suggest the HHFSH, mines a power house despite it's decreased mass (when compared to my FFBM) and the Sabre grind always gets my vote. The MOASH's are stunning, no doubt about it, as a matter of fact those pics. Guyon posted:thumbup: are breaking my heart:D Because.... Alas....I don't have one... so I can't comment on their performance but I'd imagine they perform very very well when chopping, ecspecialy with the added weight of the thicker blade. You can't go wrong with either one.

Guyon, I'd love to COLLECT your MOASH as a new USER for me:)

This is the closest thing I've got

But the HH is a little less fatigueing for more extended use

Thanks Hogs! I was a little confuse  with all these knives names! I understand better now.

the HH is a better all arounder but the MOASH is a serious chopper.

Id still take the satin Moash 1st cause then Id back it up with a snake cult!:D

neither FSH is really gonna shine at intricate work anyway.

well you ve heard from the peanut gallery now ....what ya gonna do??

What you NEED is right in the middle of those...a HOGFSH...Did I mention I had a few;)

Just for the sake of having it, I'd prefer the MOASH.

Especially if you're getting a deal on it. If you pass it up you may regret it later. No regrets? Hardly...

Collection is not important in this choice because it will be a user.

I think that the Flat Ground will cut better on big piece of wood because of its "V" profile and the weight.

The Saber Ground has a good design for me (I love the flat part of steel between the spine and the grind line), and it will be a little less heavy (that's better on medium and light vegetation).

I have to choose one. I have time.
