Standard Vs Magnum handle?

Hi all:

A short while ago I ordered a combat grade Fusion Battle Mistress with standard handle since I have an average to slightly large hand. Since then, I have been reading some very positive comments about the magnum handle.

I have never handled a Busse knife before and would be interested in informed comments on the pros and cons of both size handles. I am wondering if I should change my order from standard to magnum handle and am looking for advice to aid in the decision. Thanks much.

I like the magnum grips a lot more than the standards. I have owned 2 FSHs. One with mags and one with standard grips. Definitely like the mags better. The fill up the palm of the hand a lot better for me and that helps keep my hand from sliding around during heavy chopping. Plus the extra curves add a little visually to the handle. I ordered the mags for my FBM and can't wait till it's here!!!!

The only Busse's I have are Mag handled. And I couldn't imagine anything different! They just feel SO good in your hand. People are serious when they say, "The knife feels so good that I couldn't put it down!"

Get the Mags, you'll be glad you did!! :thumbup:

I got the mag handles on my Heavy Heart and I didn't care for them. I since reduced the girth significantly. There is no texture anymore, but NOW they feel pretty good.

That's one plus w/ the mag handles, you can take them down to the size you need if needed.

I changed my order from standard to magnum grips.

Your comments helped alot in making the decision. Palm swells usually handle better for me in any case, so I think magnum is the right way to go.

ok let me play devils advocate for a sec. I happen to like the regular handle on the HR. They carry closer and are less obtrusive. They also facilitate a more rapid grip change in martial blade craft. So for the smaller knive si do like the regular handles. But after 8 inches of blade is on the handle or if its designed toward utility they are great. They make things so much more comfortable.

If the knife in question is a FBM then ummmmm mags. But if you get a razor get the regular handles then the mags for collection purposes
