Standoffs for Military

Would it be possible to fabricate a set of thicker standoffs for the spyderco military

assuming you could widen the diameter of the screw-hole slightly and get more robust screws and perhaps some Ti standoffs...

think this could be done?

Why would want to spend all that time and energy fabricating something that can be bought for a few bucks? Whether it matters or not, modifications will immediately void your warranty, no questions asked. It's considering altering the workmanship of the knife. Workmanship is the manner in which is it assembled by professional knifemakers.
