Hi Blade Forum

Today,10/15/2017, I purchased an old Stanley double bit ax, 3 1/2 lbs for $18.00. This was at a flea market near my home in Tennessee. It has the original factory handle and was made by
Mann Edge Tool Company if my memory of ax history is correct. The blades ARE BEAUTIFUL!

I hope that everyone that reads my message will go and visit their local flea markets. There are some very good deals in the flea markets. This ax was probably never used more than once or twice.

Got any pictures ?
Does it happen to have an M on the back of it ?

I would like to see a picture of a great deal anytime. Way to go!

Hopefully it was a great deal though there's a chance it's not.
It has been said by a former Mann employee that Stanley was contracting axes to them at a time when some of their heads were secretly being produced in Mexico while they were being dishonest about their country of origin.

I don't know how long they contracted axes to Mann, or if they really had anything to do with this particular axe.
Because of that, this could be an older top notch axe or the exact opposite.

If he doesn't know how to post pictures I recommend https://postimages.org/ you don't need to sign up, all you need to do is upload the pictures then copy the hotlink for forums and paste them here.
