Stanoffs - Commanders

I just purchased a 2013 Super Commander and it has standoffs. When did Emerson start offering this? Do they still make them with backspacers? 2013? I have a couple of different size Commanders and both have the backspacer. 2011 UBR and 2000 Commander.
 
I believe they sarted half way through 2013 because there are a lot with backspacers that year also.
 
I have some and they are defintely easier to put back together.

also easier keep clean..

and I think they are stronger...my commander has 4 standoffs.
 
I have a mini commander coming tomorrow from BladeHQ, I am thinking it will have standoffs instead of the spacer.
 
The easiest way to see if it has standoffs or a back spacer is just to look at the front and back pics posted by dealers....note the locations. My Bandito has two stand offs and that's it. To be honest I'm more partial to the back spacers but that's me.
 
I like the backspacer but not the way Emerson was constructing the knife. I've had screws strip on me. If it had a screw and a decent fastner like Strider or CRK it would be preferable to me, it would also ditch extra screws. The standoff screws are a bit small but they screw in to the stand off which is steel as opposed to titanium. Still the stand off models are easier to take apart and probably stronger than the old way.
 
It was half way through 2013 and I personally love the standoffs it feels more secure IMO and its easier to center (if you have that issue) IMO ...
