I know this is a strange question, but I am generally impressed with the knowledge of forumites. Anyway no harm in asking. I've just started playing this - the pc version and I am stumped. Can you only fight when the computer identifies an enemy and the pointer turns red, or can you force a fight even when the computer doesn't identify the npc as an enemy? In other words is there an "attack" option? how?

No help there, sorry. I'd like to know if there are any Star Wars games for PS2 that allow you to play as a Jedi or Sith. Besides Revenge of the Sith.

You can only attack an identified enemy. Sometimes you can talk to someone, and if you provoke them, they try to attack you, and can attack them back. Anyway, its an awesome game, definitly my favourite. I need to get it back from my friend... :D

I bought it, and havn't been able to get into it for that very reason. I much prefer the Ist-person real-time combat that you get from various shooters and WWII sims.
Oh, and Morrowind too.

Elder Scrolls IV due out by Xmas....

I, on the other hand, prefer the interaction of a RPG. I like going around talking to people and collecting stuff. But what I really like about KOTOR is the "turn based real time combat". It is sooooo much better than the "combat" (if you can call it that) in some Final Fantasy PS2 game my fried has.

Ive completed both KOTOR 1 and 2 for the XBOX and they are both the same, you can only engage an enemy when the red arrows apear. Bummer because there are plenty of people you wish to test your newly built weapons on and can't.

Both games are awsome! Part 2 you get to make orange and silver sabers :D

GameFAQs is an excellent resource:

I got this game a few months back, but I admit I havn't been able to get into it.

I know that "turn-based-combat" is the darling of the RPG set, but I much prefer the first-person shooters, slashers, and so forth. I want to do my own mahem, not push a button and watch.

Just got Battlefield 2, EA/Dice's latest iteration of the Battlefield series.

This is a modern-day combat job, with contemporary weapons. US forces play against fictional "United Arab" forces, or Chinese. So far, very promising. There are lots of nice features and toys to play with. Lots of early-release glitches too, but EA has been good about keeping things patched up.

We of the "mod" community see this as an excellent platform for a much more realistic game; the Forgotten Hope lads are already at work....

I just bought KOTOR2, and I must say it rocks! I loved KOTOR, and this one is even better! I played it for 24 hours in the first week... :D

I have 3 sons that play also and none of them could get 100 light side,I had it half way through the game and you get + 3 added to your strengh but one bad decision and you loose it lol.

Im going through it again now as dark side and try and get the full dark side points. You will understand the need for that if you finish the game as light side, there are alot of irritating people you want to squash but have to hold back to keep you light status lol. Now its time for a no holds barred hack and slash alien slaughter!

Wow since my first post in this thread I finished KOTOR I and am now in the end game of KOTOR II. I forgot my wife's name and what happened to my kid, but that's life. I don't think they have much to complain about since I still go to work and haven't been canned. It's really disappointing not being able to just go out and whack some irritating character but it makes playing light side easier. No temptation. Anyway these are great games but Baldur's Gate and Diablo well they are the best in different ways. ;)

Ok I finished Sith Lords but I don't understand the ending. After the uber villan dies, I get a cut scene of the Ebon Hawk blasting out from the core of the planet. What happened to the remote? did it set off the shadow generator thingamajiggy or what? what about Mira???

Exactly what I was wondering. And where is the heroes reward ceremony like at the end of part one, kind of coped out on us.

Fair the well Bao-durs little droid, you shall be missed.

Hmm, I finished Sith Lords on the dark side, and my character just stayed on Malachor, waiting for other force sentitives to train to be Sith... The ending was not as good as KOTOR 1.

According to some of the KOTOR II forums a entire planets and the ending were cut out due to lucasarts schedule. One of the planets was going to be a whole planet of HK-50s.

If you guys like first person action, you really have to try Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy. The lighstaber action in those games is unmatched, IMO.

I have Jedi Outcast, and it was really great. I wanted Jedi Academy, but ended up with KOTOR instead. I might have to track down Jedi Academy sometime.
