Alright I just ordered a StarBenza I hope I like the size of it. I had a small 21 for my first Sebenza and did'nt care for the size, lets hope my tastes have changed:D. Actually I bought this to take on vacation with me next month, I need something small and discrete.

I wish Wilson Combat would do a large version of this knife, i'd have a couple of them.

If anybody's got pics post'em up.
 
Check out snowreaper1's "Star-Benza Sweetness" post. He has some very nice pictures of one he just received. Until his post, I did not know they existed though I'm familiar with the StarTac. After seeing his pictures I was thinking about ordering one also.

I wanted to try one in CPM-S35V so I emailed Chris Reeve Knives and asked what material they were using for the StarBenza. They said they were moving to CPM-S35V for all of their knives but to check with Wilson Combat to see what they had in stock (CRK response and service has always been great). I emailed Wilson Combat and a few days later received a rather curt reply something like, "They have not notified us of a change in materials." I don't think I was being a pest but with no type of hello or sign off, I was slightly miffed and figured I'd wait awhile. I looked at the Wilson site a few days later and saw a customer review of the StarBenza he had just received. He gave the knife a great review but mentioned that even though the site lists the blades as CPM-S30V, his knife came with CMP-S35V (which he was happy about). I noticed the site had also changed the blade material to CPM-S35V.

I now have one on the way also.
 
Awesome I completely forgot about the steel change over, and I already have a large Micarta with S35V.

I had a StarTac from the first run they had, a fantastic knife but no Sebenza. I was holding out to see if they were going to offer a large version but I could'nt take it any longer.
 
I think a number of people are looking for this model in the larger size also. These seem to be good sellers for Wilson Combat so if they are listening, maybe a large one will show up down the road.
 
very nice knife. are the scales the same as on a regular sebenza except for the carving?

Your gonna love this knife. I wasn't too fond of the small sebbies size either when I had a small regular. But this knife changed my mind. So much so I just placed an order for a small 21 with raindrop damascus. I like to carry it in the slip pouch with the clip removed. Update and tell us how you like it when you recieve ir;)
 
I posted these in another thread. I was a little underwhelmed with the design when I got it, but polishing the upper surface makes it really pop

The scales are the same material (Ti) if that is what you are asking.

That looks really nice, I've seen it done on the StarTac and it looks good on it too.
 
Well brown dropped it off today, and I like it alot!!!!. Oh how I wish they would do a Large. I like the little added touch on the blade stop bushing also.

Travis that is a looker for sure,,,,if they made it in a large id be all over that as well.Congrads very nice!
 
I just received a large TNK Tanto last week, and it has the same blade stop bushing. Looks like it might be standard now?!
 
Heres a pic for ya! I was proud of this one, considering I'm far from a professional photographer. Anyways, I sold mine :( Just Sold it today actually, shipping it tomorrow. Sad, yes, I know, but the reason being I don't see myself ever using it, I much prefer a large, and between my new plain large and my new micarta large, I knew this one didn't have a chance...
Hopefully you'll use yours more than I did mine (not at all)

Regarding the bushing for the blade stop, I noticed that my new large micarta has the same bushing, but my new plain large does not... interesting huh?

Brad if it would have been a week earlier, i'd jumped on yours. I carried it around yesterday, not use to the small size yet. I got it to take to Florida with me don't want to scare the inlaws with the large. Hopefully the size will grow on me.
 
If they decide to make a Large them I'm buying one. Normally I don't like the Idaho Made stamp, but on these I don't mind it so much. It's much more subtle...
