Starmate ready to ship yet?

I never thought of myself as an ELU... I am eagerly awaiting my Starmate!

Isn't an ELU one of them furry things from the Star Wars movies? Oh... no, that an EWOK - well that's pretty close.

Seeing pictures of this knife and hearing people talking about it is like seeing the trailers for Star Wars and not getting to see the movie before May 19.

Or like seeing a picture of your girlfriend (proposing when I get back) while on spring break, knowing you must wait 4 more days till you see her again. (well maybe that doesn't apply to you guys)

The pain you put us through Sal.....

I WANT IT NOW! ! !

I know I know pass the cheese with my whine.

I talked to Vince, he said the 200 marked for collectors are shipping now...the rest are close behind....

WOO HOO!

Saw this knife, Starmate, at http://www.spyderco.com/knife/cat_cc55.html
Looks very practical.
Good steel, I still wonder why Spyderco is using CPM440V versus CPM420V?

Donald.
We have spent the last 2 years learning how to grind and work CPM440V without destroying the steel or heatreat. We did make a Q with 420V for a customer and found it to be even worse to grind.
Not to say we are not working on it.
Thanks.
Vince.

Regardless, I congratulate and commend Spyderco on taking the leap forward as a production knife company by using 440v -- and doing such a great job with it.
