Got my first Fiddleback with another on the way shortly. This one is an 01 Wasp with blue Ash handles and white and black liners. I applied a patina - but this knife is really amazing. It's the first knife that I've held in a long time that is how I feel a knife should be. So often when I handle a knife that I like, there is still something very wrong with some element of it. This is comfortable and light. It fits right and it feels right. The blade is ground for cutting. I can't jam the tip into an elevator door and pry it open (not that I would ever want to use a knife to do that, but to each their own) - but it's made to do the task that it was designed for. Cuts beautifully. It looks great..from the handles to the grind to the overall appearance. Very impressed and happy to be a supporter and customer of Fiddleback Forge.

Please offer a small prayer for my wallet! Anyone else have any models they recommend that I feel for myself?

Bishop, Scorpion, Bushboot, Nessmuk, Hiking Buddy, Bushfinger, Camp Nessie, KPH if you are a hunter

The Karda really does have appeal...looks like a useful blade. And the Scorpion is the knife that brought me to fiddleback. Just have to wait for the right one.

Szilard,
Welcome to the addiction. There are support groups that meet regularly. :)
The next knife depends on the purpose. Right now my favorite is an EDC Karda.

Welcome!

IMO, get yourself a nice 5/32" tapered tang Bushcrafter or Recluse and call it a day. If you want a bigger profile, you can't do wrong with the Duke or Woodsman. Grab one of the smaller profiles listed above (Runt, 3FK, etc.) and call it a day... heck I should follow my own advice ;)

The problem with the Fiddleback support groups is that they meet on Fridays right before the fiddleback Friday oost and the meetings end with everyone saying "good sharking!"

Ha. You guys are pretty rough on Fridays! Hard to sneak in there. I do a lot of different stuff - really light bushcraft, trail running, hiking, and daily EDC chores. I like big camp stuff but that's just for fun and get a lot more use out of small to mid size EDC blades. I really like thin or pointy profiles just as a matter of taste.

Two words.......Hiking Buddy. I might be in the minority, but I consider this the flagship of Andy's line.

I'll third the Hiking Buddy for a light bushcraft, trail running, hiking EDC. For something more pointy in an EDC roll, the EDKarda is hard to beat. For the fun big camp stuff, Camp Knife, Duke, Woodsman would fit the bill.

Welcome aboard! All the models Andy makes are top notch. The other's are right, Bushfinger. It's not only fun to say, it's a wonderful knife! I recently have grown fond of Hunters, just a little bigger than a Bushfinger with a guard (most of Hunters). A Sneaky Pete is also one that has grown on me. Originally it was way to dagger looking for me, but then I got one in hand and I was hooked. Speaking of hooked.... welcome aboard!

Welcome to the fun! If your significant other ever asks about the cost, just say they cost the same as a new pair of shoes!

I'll second the Hunter, my newest favorite.

You will not be unhappy with a Kephart or better yet, a KE Bushie. I just got an older KEB on the flea market, and it is my favorite belt knife. That said, the one Fiddleback that goes everywhere in my pack is my Woodchuck. BTW, I now own 21 Fiddlebacks on my way to...

To put a picture to some of the names folks have been throwing out, and so you can see their relative sizes, I'll label the knives on this somewhat old collection pic.
