Start of a new kind of knife addiction

Mwuhahahahaha!!!!!!

The Case stainless steel mini trapper - it's like the gateway drug to slipjoint addiction. Enjoy. It's one of my favorite patterns!

You should have no problems sharpening it. There's not much difference in sharpening difficulty between Case's SS and CV.

That is definitely a stepping stone to harder dru:eek:....I mean metals:D First it is stainless steel, harmless as it sounds, "everyone is doing it." Then there will be a curiosity for CV. This always leads to a 154 CM habit, and then on to the heroin of D2. It is intervention time for you.;)

Some people can keep their 1095 to weekend use without moving on to the hard stuff. ;) I was looking at the mini trappers before I got the cheetah cub. Tell us how you like the SS.

I used to think that.:D

Another path that this new addiction may take you is to start hanging out at flea markets, antique shops, and the like looking to score ... an old green bone Case XX knife. Talk about a high! I get the shakes just thinking about it!

I know how you feel klhayes. 2 weeks ago, I was happy with my tactical folders (including two Sebenzas) and a few SAKs. After lurking the Traditionals subforum (and reading jackknife's somewhat romanticised portrayals of slippies - which ain't a bad thing at all), I now have 2 Schrades, 1 S&M, 1 Hen and Rooster and 1 Case on their way to meeeee.:D:D:D I've got the old school syndrome:cool:, gonna learn how to sharpen freehand, buy a fedora, and all that jazz. I'm even considering selling the Sebenzas...:foot:

I'm kidding about the fedora.

IMHO you couldn't have picked a better choice for your first slip joint...

I really like the MT's. They fit the hand good, look great, AND they have half stops:D

Welcome to the addiction. Don't get to worried over the SS/CV thing.
They will both work just fine and are easy to put an edge on.

Thank you very much for your support but i have a feeling you will all be enablers to my slipjoint addiction. Not that is a bad thing.:D:eek:

Do yall find yourself liking knives with a certain amount of blades.I personaly find my self liking the two bladed knives like the trapper.Does anyone else have a preference of how many blades and why? Maybe i just dont fully understand the purpose of that many blades but now dont forget up until now all i have bought is tatical knives. I have alot to learn.

I prefer knives with only two blades. Mini Trapper being one of them, Case Medium Jack (62032) which I have been carrying for some months now, Large Jack (6292) and the full size Copperhead.
I still have some three bladed knives and like them, they just don't see as much pocket time as the ones with two blades .... Although sometimes I do enjoy using a sheepsfoot blade just because.

The exception for me though is the equal end pen knife which has two blades.
I recently picked one up, and while it is a nice little knife, it just doesn't feel right in my big hands.

But as I have proven in the past, and you can tell by my avatar picture, my preferences are subject to change :D
