Start of a New Project

Since the last canoe I helped refurbish got stolen I figured I would start another one. Got it for $80 delivered. Still havent decided on what color Im going to paint it. Should be a fun summer project.

Sand out the old damaged fiberglass while feather edging it out. Add some resin saturated fiberglass cloth, scuff then repeat until smooth. Ill post some more pictures soon once I make some progress.
 
Wear a fiber mask when sanding. I ended up with grit in my eyes...I prefer not to think it was fiberglas. Ended up wearing glasses. You got a decent boat for a decent price. The work is tedious, but kind of rewarding in a masochistic sort of way.

Sorry no updates in awhile, just more sanding and fiberglass so nothing spectacular to see. I spent all day splitting a massive birch to carve a yoke. Should be done that soon.
