I've seen rhododendrons there which must have been 50' (or more) tall. "Himalayan" in stature, compared to the rhodies I'm used to seeing here.

They gotta be huge to get big enough for a handle like these.
I had one in the past which was quite large, really nice when it bloomed. Saved it on a construction site and transplanted at home with no small effort.

That was 30 years ago, if it's still there it might be big enough now if they didn't cut it down.
