I thought I should share this with you guys. I got a Queen green bone trapper in a trade on the slippie swap thing we have here and I sent it to Muskrat Man to have the spay blade removed - making it a single blade trapper. MM just sent me a picture and I'm chompin' at the bit to get my hands on this bad boy! Upon receipt, it will fall into the rotation of my "user" knives which all wait patiently in the coffee table drawer for their chance to go for a ride.

Check it out!

Thanks Muskrat Man!

Very cool, that will be a good one. What inspired you to do the single blade idea, I like it.

Single blade trappers improve the pocketability of an otherwise pretty hefty knife! Good idea, Kevin! Came out "knice"!

Yeah, it's pretty much a weight and simplicity thing. I got the idea from another "trade" knife, an old Queen 12EO (single blade trapper, "Easy Open" with black handles) that I got in a swap with Waynorth. I really liked it and badly wanted to carry it, but it was so old and kind of rare, so I wrote to Queen Cutlery, got a box for the 12EO and added it to my collection. However, the seed had been planted and I set my mind in getting a single blade trapper. I've been hunting for one ever since. I didn't like the handle materials of the slimline trappers, nor did I think the handle was beefy enough to get a safe grip, so I found a trapper I liked and asked Muskrat Man to make me a single.

Great idea and execution too!

Very nice. Looks like a real solid user. I like the idea of the Single Blade Trappers, but find the Queen and Case Utilities just too skinny for my hand.

single blade trapper is a nice carry knife, thin, but have plenty of heft to get the job done.

It just arrived. What a great knife, thank you Muskrat Man! All manufacturors who produce trappers should offer a single blade version of all their trappers. They would cost less to make, you could sell them at the same price as a standard trapper and I think they would sell like hot cakes. This knife is thin, light and feels fantastic in your hand! I've got a new favorite.

I didn't know you could do that! But then I'm just getting to know MM. Great looking knife - the two of you.

Hey MM???

Mike

Just plain sweet! Just right for a daily pocket companion. Nice thought process and good on ya for going for it, Kevin. And very nice work, MM.

I may have to give that some thought myself. I carry my mini-trapper because my full size trappers are a bit to much for slacks wear. And, as Kevin mentioned, the slim lines and usual single blade trappers are often a little too "slim." Dropping one blade on a full size with some handle to it would make a nice, sweet all the time knife.

single blade trapper = half trapper, right  :D

Oh yea...muskrat man, nice job!
