As the title states I have a few ZT's, to be exact I have a 550, 551, 560, and a 561. I also have a 566 on pre-order. So I've decided that I need a few Kershaw knives to toss into the rotation. I like the knockout, and the thermite is another Hinderer design for the collection. On the other hand does a Kershaw collection need to begin with a skyline? a blur? What does everyone think? How does one start a Kershaw collection?

You can't go wrong with a Skyline, Leek, or Blur.

Junkyard Dog & Rake are good options too.

I started with a composite blade Leek, myself. Then got an S30V Blur that is awesome. Then a Cryo, which is a marvelous little Hinderer. Now, I have a Wild Turkey damascus coming as well as a damascus Leek. Really good knives.

If you want a knockout then go ahead and grab one. Get a leek and a cryo as well

Cant go wrong with leek, skyline or blur it depends on what ur uses would be......I love my rake, jyd, piston, and knockout as well tho. You being a ZT man big seems to be what u like so id go piston/blur ( non composite) or rake/jyd composite blade. if i had to pick id get jyd composite for 55 bucks from kershawguy.com

I found the handle on the skyline to be too small and the flipper didn't have any jimping so it wouldn't flick very well for me. That's my personal experience and I seem to be one of the few that is not crazy about the skyline. It's a well made knife and light though.

The knockout took a little getting used to for me but it has grown on me. I'm a very big fan of the clash and I have an OSO Sweet also.

I just got a knockout and they are awesome. if you are interested in one check out USA Made Blade, Whitty is a member here and he is really great to deal with and his knockout price is un matched. the skyline is another extremely great option, its manual flipper is so smooth

Start where you like, all of the popular models are popular for a reason but the knockout is amazing so if you like that design by all means go that route. You won't be dissapointed

A friend of mine had an s30v blur, but recently lost it. I was actually thinking of something a bit smaller than the ZT's I have. Thanks for the suggestions!

The Kershaws that get the most use for me are the Leek, Skyline, and Blur (in that order). I did recently pick up a Spec Bump, and I'm liking it quite a bit. The Spec Bump is discontinued, but the Speed Bump is still out there. Only differences that I know of are flat handles (vs. 3D machined), and the blade steel.

Must have Kershaws
*Leek- my first knife, got it in full DLC coated variation, a CLASSIC available in TONS of colors and options
*Cryo- Stout lil guy, fires hard, great Hinderer design, deep carry clip, full TiNi coated.
*Knockout- Light for its size, fires hard, unique design on scales, favoirte for a larger folder.
*skyline-have the coyote brown limited edition, dlc coated, G10 scales, lightweight, good lil handy carry knife.

They are all great knives!
