I have a few dozen knives in my "collection," but I wanted to start a collection with more cohesion. My dad is a knife knut, too, and has always collected the traditional pocket knives and some fixed blade. I really like the Case swell center jacks (coke bottles), but these are collected a lot. I already have a few and dad has a few he plans to pass on. I hope to pick up some here and there over my lifetime.
I'm trying to find some kind of niche (something that everyone doesn't seem to do already) in traditional folders and I was thinking that Sodbusters with bone or stag handles seems to be a new thing. What are you thoughts on starting a collection of these? I guess I wonder with the soddies' history of being such a simple knife and heavy working knife, and the appeal to people of the plastic/synthetic scales if the bone scales will even continue very long.
I appreciate your input!
