Hello - I am considering starting an online/web-based knife business that would focus on selling high end factory, custom, and vintage knives. It would be based in NJ and I would likely be shipping knives all over the US and Internationally. I would not deal in automatics or butterfly knives. Are there any legal considerations that I should be thinking about? Any licenses required for this type of business. I would operate the business as an LLC. Appreciate any comments, pitfalls, legal issues to watch out for/avoid. Thanks.

See an accountant (probably better than a lawyer) in your hometown. He/she can help you set up the LLC and inform you of local licensing requirements. As far as legal and international considerations each state and many cities have laws that might impact you. This is an area where someone in the business could be of most help.
