Starting night shift tonight. Mrs. SpikeHawk ain't all that happy with it, but sometimes you need a change. I think it will be good.
It's gonna be a long first night, but I got my coffee, and my brand spanking new BK24 that arrived in the mail today. Got the zytel scales to go with it. Looks like I'll be cutting paper and arm hair all night, haha.

Man, that is sweet. I'm gonna get one as soon as I can convince the wife "I" need a knife for our anniversary (I bought her a 16). But I need to let her buy me a 10 with her credit card, then I can use mine to get a 24, LOL.

Always scheming to get new BKs

By the way...I work nights too. But I'm off tonight.

I too work the night shift for two years now. I love how quiet it is.

I've worked steady mids for 16 years and never going back unless I get promoted.
Its a great shift when you have young kids in school. You'll never miss a little league game or recital.

Enjoy and stay safe.

4 years on night shift now. We do 7p-7a rotations. Hope you don't have too difficult a time getting used to it.

I'm on 1800-0600. Yes, days work and night shift are two different animals. Both have their advantages.
Back to Becker content: I'm trying out the BK24 in my weak hand front pocket. Going to try leaving the Benchmade Rift at home, and try a 100%fixed EDC. I love the slim profile of the 24, even with the zytel scales. The jury is still out on the stock sheath, though. Probably going to replace it with kydex, or a leather pocket sheath.

Enjoy the new steel. Yikes, night shift doesnt sound too fun. I've got friends that work in hospitals that work pretty regular night shifts and seem to like it quite a bit though.

I was EDCing my 14 in the front pocket until I stumbled upon some old belt keepers I had... I am only using the stock sheath at this point until I can get a better one. But I do like the thin-ness of the stock sheath.

I get called out pretty frequently to do nights at the hospitals. Usually ERs. It's fun. Although I've noticed the night shift nurses in the ER aren't usually cute, but the night shift radiology usually is.

I've been on night shift for about seven years with a few month break when I transferred from Oregon to Colorado. It can be rough but I do prefer it to day shift where I work.

I wanna quit being a vampire......

No time to do anything....

Well, it helps if you get a day off every now and then, but its still tough to do anything.....

I have been edc-ing my 14 for a while & rarely carry a folder anymore. I just got my 24 last week and already upgraded the sheath + added a set of walnut burl scales. :D

Working 1800-0630 and it sucks. But I do what I gotta do to provide for my family. Someday I'll join the ranks of the daywalkers again. But until then, graves it is.
