Starting to get a bit of speckling .What to do?

This cellulite Winchester is starting to get a bit of speckling which
I suspect is from off gassing .I keep it out and in the open away
from other knives. I'm wondering if I should force a patina on the
blades and if this will prevent the speckling.

I’m no expert, but I don’t think a patina will help. I would get the cel replaces with new covers.

I would recommend sending it to Signalprick , or @glennbad for a re handle if off gassing is the suspect. That's too fine a knife to let get eaten up.

I appreciate the shout out. However, other than the occasional Pena X Series slipjoint, I am no longer doing mod/recover work.

It could be the bomb is about to go off looks like shrink is beginning from the bolsters and around the shield, those speckles don't look like ordinary moisture...ask @jsdistin his work is stellar.
