What?? Where did this come from, what a great surprise! I think it’s fantastic and fitting that an Ethan Becker design is the first premium knife they craft!

I am blindsided, what can y’all tell me about this custom shop? How did it start? What is their vision for the future? Made to order knives? Custom options on existing lines? Collaborations with in-house designers or others?

I’m excited for the possibilities!

I was just going by Kabar’s website “The first production knife and sheath made in the State & Union custom shop at KA-BAR, the Becker Tuko is a Limited Edition offering released in honor of a momentous milestone in KA-BAR'S history.”

Ka-bar’s statement about the 98 seems a little confusing then, maybe the Pacific Theater is considered by them as a modification of an existing production knife where the 98 is a totally new design? They are both nice knives!

Steel geek chiming in. ;)

I am excited to see what comes next!

BK9 in 3V?
BK16 in D2?
BK15 in S35VN?

Yes, yes and yes! I’ll take the fancy micarta on all of them too.

Is this a good place to ask again for a D2 Extreme without the combo edge? :)

I’d love a traditional looking USMC KaBar with a full non-hidden tang (it could have scales that look somewhat similar to the leather handle’s lines).

I’ll second that Yes! Yes! Yes!!

I really like this.
Hopefully a lot more knives in smaller runs.
Like maybe a BK2 in 3/16 and 1095.
Yeah I know plain jane.

a BK-15 in fancy-schmancy steel?
I'm in; I don't care what letters, numbers or combination of the foregoing they make it in - JUST MAKE IT!

would you buy one at $250? lots of people won't. which is sad.

I would happily buy a BK15 in S35VN with those micarta scales for the $200 they wanted for the BK98. I would probably buy two.
Me too! I really hope Ethan and Ka-Bar are watching this thread. Shouldn’t even be hard for them to do.

I've been following them on Instagram for a bit now. They're in place to do some pretty cool things.

Just read there will be a BK2 (ish) blade: 3/16" in Cru-wear, stone washed in red linen micarta. High saber, convex grind.

Called the BK SpookActual.

I wish they had a way to follow without joining Instagram or Facebook. I did see a few knives they made and was impressed :D
