I'm looking for a pair of boots for my dads trucking job. He hauls propane and his company has strict requirements on what boots he can wear. They have to be steel toe and static dissipating. He would really like for them to be pull ons and flat soled. Sounds pretty easy to find but we can't find any that are actually static dissipating. His company will sell him a pair of crappy hiking boots that fell apart in like a year. We'd also like for them to be around $100-$150 please so no $300 red wings. Thank you for your help.

There are quite a lot of static dissipative shoes for sale. Not only boots, but from the looks of it everything from hiking style shoes and slip on loafer styles to athletic show styles. All come with steel toe reinforcement. I cannot seem to find any of the flat soled versions though. Give Google a shot, click here.

I've had good luck with the Timberland Pro line. Super comfy out of the box.
Really? While their shoes were built durable, the one I got(gladstone ESD) was very heavy indeed, and hurt quite a bit since it doesn't have the cushioning around the ankle.

I found one from Wolverine that looks comfy:

Only one in their line that's ESD, but I own two of their line(other than Bates, which I believe is an offshoot), and both are comfy and well built.

Well thanks guys I found some. Apparently my fathers google-fu is weak but a google search found him some caterpillar boots that will fit the bill just fine. I'd post a link if I knew how. Thanks for your help though. I'll remember to google search for myself next time. :)
